It is hard to put an exact number on Muslim immigrants to the US because the US Census does not note the religion of people. However, the number of Muslim Legal Permanent Residents has increased from 2002. In 1992, approximately 50,000 Muslims had immigrated to the US. In 2010, approximately 88,000 Muslims had immigrated to the US.

To compare, more than 4.8 million Europeans immigrated to the United States in 2010. That is 12% of the 40 million immigrants that moved to America that year.

It is estimated that the number of Muslims in the US will increase. For example, in 2010 there were 2,595,000 Muslims in the United States. It is projected that by 2030, there will be 6,216,000 Muslims in the US.
